Pocket Watches
This is the whole New Zealand range in one grid, and it is the page to start on when you have not settled on a style yet. Four case types cover almost everything here. A full hunter has a solid hinged lid that closes over the dial and springs open at the crown. A half hunter keeps that lid but cuts a window into it, so the time reads with the case still shut. An open-face design has no cover at all. A skeleton dial is cut away so the movement shows through while the watch is running. Half hunters are the biggest group on the shelf, with full hunters behind them.
Movements
Nearly everything on this page is hand-wound mechanical. There is no battery: you turn the crown once a day, stop as soon as you feel firm resistance, and the watch runs on the spring you have just wound. The exception is Swiss Pocket Watches, the Classique collection, which uses Swiss quartz and keeps time on its own between wears. Much of that collection is built to order, so allow extra time for made-to-order pieces.
Finishes
Colour is the other way most people narrow this down. Gold Pocket Watches read warm and ceremonial. Silver Pocket Watches are the neutral pick that sits with whatever the wearer already owns. Brass Pocket Watches have a warmer, worn-in tone that suits vintage and steampunk styling, and Black Pocket Watches are the most understated. These are new vintage-style watches, so a metal name describes the case finish rather than a precious metal. If the see-through look is the point, go straight to Skeleton Pocket Watches.

Are these original old pocket watches, or newly made ones?
Newly made. Every watch on this page is a new vintage-style piece built to a traditional pattern, not an old watch resold. That is why they carry a 12-month movement warranty.
How do I open a full hunter pocket watch?
Press the crown at the top of the case and the lid springs open on its hinge. Close it by pressing the lid down until the catch clicks, rather than forcing the hinge.
Does a pocket watch come with a chain?
A chain is not included with the watch. A matching chain is available separately, and the styles we hold are listed under Pocket Watch Chains.

What is the difference between a half hunter and a full hunter?
